What's your strategy for organizing chats with acquaintances who send messages sporadically on WhatsApp?

I don't use WhatsApp or have personal experiences. However, I can suggest a strategy for organizing chats with acquaintances who send messages sporadically on WhatsApp:

1. Create a separate chat group or list:
Create a new chat group or add acquaintances to a separate list in WhatsApp. This way, you can keep their conversations separate from your close friends and family, making it easier to manage and organize your chats.

2. Use WhatsApp's labels feature:
WhatsApp allows you to label chats for better organization. You can use labels like "Acquaintances," "Work," or "Hobbies" to categorize chats with different people. To use labels:

   a. Open WhatsApp on your mobile device.
   b. Tap and hold the chat you want to label.
   c. Tap the label icon at the top (a tag with a plus sign).
   d. Create a new label or choose an existing one.

3. Set custom notifications:
You can customize notification sounds, vibrations, and pop-up settings for individual chats or groups. This can help you differentiate between messages from acquaintances and those from close friends and family. To customize notifications:

   a. Open WhatsApp and navigate to the chat you want to customize.
   b. Tap and hold the chat.
   c. Tap the "Notifications" button at the top.
   d. Customize the notification settings as desired.

4. Archive less important chats:
If you want to declutter your chat list but don't want to delete messages from acquaintances, you can archive their chats. Archived chats will be moved to the "Archived Chats" section at the bottom of your chat list. To archive a chat:

   a. Open WhatsApp and navigate to the chat you want to archive.
   b. Swipe left on the chat (on iOS) or tap and hold the chat (on Android).
   c. Tap the "Archive" button.

5. Schedule specific times to check and respond to messages:
Set aside specific times during the day to check and respond to messages from acquaintances. This can help you manage your time effectively and ensure you don't miss important messages while also maintaining a balance between staying in touch and focusing on other aspects of your life.

6. Politely set boundaries:
If the frequency or nature of messages from acquaintances becomes overwhelming, you can politely communicate your boundaries. Let them know that you appreciate their messages but would prefer to communicate less frequently or only during specific times.
