How can you delete WhatsApp messages from both sides?

To delete WhatsApp messages from both sides (yours and the recipient's), you can use the "Delete for Everyone" feature within WhatsApp. This feature allows you to remove messages you've sent from both your device and the recipient's device. Here's how you can do it:

### Deleting Messages for Everyone:

1. **Open WhatsApp**: Launch the WhatsApp application on your device.

2. **Go to the Chat**: Navigate to the chat where the message you want to delete was sent.

3. **Select the Message(s)**:
   - Tap and hold on the message or messages you want to delete. This will select them.
   - You can select multiple messages if you want to delete them together.

4. **Tap Delete**: At the top of the screen, tap on the trash can icon or the delete option that appears after selecting the message(s).

5. **Choose Delete for Everyone**:
   - WhatsApp will display options at the bottom of the screen. Tap on **Delete for Everyone**.

6. **Confirmation**: A pop-up message will appear asking if you want to delete the message for everyone. Tap on **Delete** to confirm.

7. **Success Notification**: If the deletion is successful, you will see a message saying "**You deleted this message**".

### Important Notes:

- **Time Limit**: You can only delete messages for everyone within approximately 1 hour and 8 minutes after sending. After this time, the message cannot be deleted for everyone.

- **Internet Connection**: Both you and the recipient must have an active internet connection for the deletion to be successful.

- **Recipient's Notification**: Even if you delete a message for everyone, the recipient will still see a notification that a message was deleted. The content of the message will be replaced with "**This message was deleted**".

- **Backup Copies**: Deleted messages may still exist in backups stored on the recipient's device or in your cloud backups (like iCloud for iPhone users). Deleting for everyone does not remove the message from backups.

By following these steps, you can delete WhatsApp messages from both sides using the "Delete for Everyone" feature, ensuring that the message is removed from both your chat and the recipient's chat.
