What was the original name of Twitter?

The original name of Twitter was "Twttr". It was initially launched as a side project within the podcasting company Odeo in March 2006. The idea was conceived during a brainstorming session held by Odeo employees Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, Biz Stone, and Evan Williams. The name "Twttr" was inspired by the popular short messaging service at the time, SMS (Short Message Service), which limited messages to 160 characters. The founders later changed the name to "Twitter", which they felt was more evocative and easier to remember, before publicly launching the platform in July 2006.
