In this special episode—our 20th and the final one of 2015 for *Over Simplified SEO*—we're doing a recap of some key link-building strategies discussed throughout the year. Link building remains a crucial component of SEO, so let's revisit the six episodes we recorded on this topic in 2015!

**Strategy #1: Creating Linkable Assets**
This approach involves crafting content so compelling that others naturally want to link to it. Brian Dean, MOZ, and Neil Patel are masters of this technique. We can all learn a lot from their success!

**Strategy #2: Guest Blogging**
Contrary to some beliefs, guest blogging is still a powerful way to secure valuable backlinks. While consistently producing high-quality content can be challenging, applying the 'Robin Hood technique' can simplify the process and help you earn numerous backlinks.

**Strategy #3: Broken Link Building**
Although this strategy has been around for years and requires significant effort with variable success, it's still worth trying. It can provide opportunities to gain backlinks from high-authority sites.

**Strategy #4: Monitoring Your Niche**
Sometimes, timing is everything. By closely monitoring your niche and reaching out when relevant content is published, you can create numerous link-building opportunities.

**Strategy #5: Link Intersect**
The idea here is straightforward: if a site links to all your competitors but not to you, it probably means they haven't discovered you yet. Reach out and introduce yourself to potentially earn that backlink. There are also tools available to help with this process.

**Strategy #6: Competitor Research**
To outrank competitors, analyze which sites link to them and target those same sites for your backlinks. While it sounds simple, this strategy can be challenging to execute effectively.

That concludes our Link Building 101 series. Experienced SEOs may find these concepts familiar, but beginners will likely find them valuable and insightful!
