What is the Facebook Ads billing threshold?

SeoGuru

The Facebook Ads billing threshold is the amount you can spend on ads before Facebook automatically charges your payment method. It's part of Facebook's automatic billing system and is designed to manage how often you get billed.

💳 How the Billing Threshold Works
Let's say your billing threshold is $50:

When your total ad spend reaches $50, Facebook will charge your payment method.

Your threshold then resets, and the cycle starts again.

If you don't reach the threshold, Facebook will still charge you at the end of your monthly billing cycle.

🔁 Example:
Date   Spend   Total   Action
April 1   $20   $20   No charge yet
April 2   $30   $50   💳 Charge triggered
April 3–30   $40   $40   No charge yet
April 30   —   $40   💳 Charged for remaining
🔼 Can My Threshold Increase?
Yes! Facebook may automatically raise your billing threshold over time if:

You're making successful, on-time payments.

You're spending consistently and without payment issues.

Thresholds typically go up in stages (e.g., $25 → $50 → $250 → $500+), but you can't manually request an increase.

📍 Where to Check Your Billing Threshold
Go to Ads Manager > Billing.

Click "Payment Settings".

Look under "Account Spending Limit" or "Payment Settings" to see your current threshold.

🧠 Good to Know:
You'll also be charged at the end of each month even if you haven't reached your threshold.

You can't disable billing thresholds, but you can set your own account spending limit to control total ad spend.
