Granting Facebook Ads Manager access is essential for businesses or teams working together on Facebook and Instagram advertising. Whether you're collaborating with an agency, adding team members, or giving access to a third party, following the right steps ensures everyone can efficiently manage and optimize your campaigns.

Here's a complete 2024 guide on how to grant Facebook Ads Manager access:

Step 1: Access Your Facebook Business Manager
Before granting Ads Manager access, ensure you have a Facebook Business Manager account. This is the hub for managing your pages, ad accounts, and team members.

Login to your Facebook account.

Navigate to the Business Manager.

Ensure you are an admin of the Business Manager account (only admins can add or remove people).

Step 2: Navigate to Ads Manager
Once inside your Business Manager:

Go to the Business Settings.

From the Business Manager dashboard, click on the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner.

Select Business Settings.

Under the Users section, click on People.

Here, you'll see a list of people who already have access. To add a new person:

Click Add at the top of the page.

Step 3: Add People to Your Ads Manager
Now, to add a person and grant them access to Ads Manager:

Enter the person's email address.

This will be the email linked to their Facebook account. You'll need to be connected to them on Facebook or have their email address to send the invitation.

Choose their role:

Select whether they will be an Admin, Employee, or a Custom Role:

Admin: Full access to manage all campaigns, settings, and assets.

Employee: Restricted to working on campaigns but cannot make major changes.

Custom Role: You can create a tailored role with specific permissions (for example, only giving them access to ads creation but not billing information).

Assign access to your Ad Account:

Select the Ad Account that you want to grant them access to. If you don't see the ad account listed, make sure it's linked to your Business Manager.

Grant permission:

Depending on the role selected, choose which permissions to grant:

Manage campaigns: Access to create, edit, and manage campaigns.

View performance: Allow viewing of campaign performance and insights.

View and edit ads: Allows creating and editing of ads.

Manage ad account settings: Ability to manage billing, payment methods, and permissions for the ad account.

Click Next to proceed.

Step 4: Send the Invitation
Once you have assigned the necessary permissions:

Click Invite.

The person you added will receive an email or notification in their Facebook account, asking them to accept the invitation.

Step 5: Accept the Invitation
For the person to gain access:

They must accept the invitation within 24 hours.

After acceptance, they will have access to your Ads Manager based on the permissions you've granted.

Step 6: Confirm Access
Once the invitation is accepted:

You can return to Business Settings and verify that the person is now listed under People with the correct permissions.

If needed, you can modify their permissions at any time by selecting their name and updating the assigned roles.

Step 7: Granting Additional Access (if needed)
If you need to grant access to other parts of the Facebook ecosystem, such as Facebook Pages or Instagram accounts:

Go to Business Settings > Accounts > Pages or Instagram Accounts.

Select the specific Page or Instagram account and assign access permissions for the person or team.

Important Notes:
Only admins can grant or modify permissions. Ensure that whoever is granting access has admin rights.

You can assign roles and permissions to individuals at both the ad account level and the Facebook Page level, which allows for flexibility in managing access across your business.

Keep security in mind: Only grant access to trusted individuals, especially for roles with high-level permissions like admin access.
