Who created Bitcoin?

Bitcoin was created by an individual or group of individuals using the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. Despite extensive efforts by researchers and journalists to uncover Nakamoto's true identity, it remains unknown. Nakamoto released the Bitcoin whitepaper, titled "Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System," in October 2008, outlining the principles and design of the cryptocurrency. The first block of the Bitcoin blockchain, known as the "genesis block," was mined on January 3, 2009, marking the official launch of Bitcoin. Nakamoto was actively involved in the early development of Bitcoin but gradually withdrew from the project in 2010, leaving it in the hands of the broader open-source community.
