How long is a Bitcoin blockchain?

seoservices

The length of the Bitcoin blockchain, in terms of the number of blocks, continues to grow over time as new blocks are added to the chain approximately every 10 minutes on average. Since the creation of Bitcoin's genesis block on January 3, 2009, thousands of blocks have been added to the blockchain.

As of my last update in January 2022, the Bitcoin blockchain had reached well over 700,000 blocks. However, the exact number of blocks can be checked in real-time using blockchain explorers or node software, as the blockchain is continuously growing with each new block mined.

Each block in the Bitcoin blockchain contains a record of transactions that have been validated and confirmed by miners, along with other metadata such as the block's hash, timestamp, and the previous block's hash. This structure forms a chronological chain of blocks, hence the name "blockchain," providing a secure and immutable record of all Bitcoin transactions since the network's inception.
